DIY Christmas presents
Every year I try to make a gift for some family members. I am sure my family really looks forward to these=) This year it was name blocks with the year they were “established” or married at the bottom. Here is how a few turned out…
Christmas Decorations 2012!
Since we were heading out of town (and the winter storm gave me an extra day) I decided to take our Christmas decorations down December 21st. I did snap a few photos first. By the way, I am SO glad I had them down, you should have seen the mess our house was in when we got all our loot inside! We must have been VERY good this year.
Our tree. It was upstairs in the FROG room this year.
These are inherited Department 56 pieces. Bailey really liked the cute village, however I think we said “just look” over 1,000 times.
By far, this is my favorite Christmas decoration. I am always tempted to leave it up all year. (In fact, I have before.)
This picture just proves I took the time to put the garland up in the kitchen. However, it wasn’t as successful as I had to repair it many times. Even duct tape wasn’t holding it! For some reason it kept falling, maybe due to the amount of dust build up?!
Lastly, our mantel. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care…

Draco and Euclid
“During the upcoming 2012-13 winter season The Weather Channel will name noteworthy winter storms. Our goal is to better communicate the threat and the timing of the significant impacts that accompany these events. The fact is, a storm with a name is easier to follow, which will mean fewer surprises and more preparation.”
Why do it?
- Naming a storm raises awareness.
- Attaching a name makes it much easier to follow a weather system’s progress.
- A storm with a name takes on a personality all its own, which adds to awareness.
- In today’s social media world, a name makes it much easier to reference in communication.
- A named storm is easier to remember and refer to in the future.
And my last question….When can the storm be named Lindsay?

Weekend Recap
Then we took Bailey to see The Singing Christmas Tree Saturday evening at our church. She actually lasted about 45 minutes. We were proud.
On Sunday we had planned to go to the Blythewood Christmas Parade, however Bailey chose to sleep late instead. There is always next year! So we went to her favorite place instead…the playground!
