Daytona - Jetty and Beach Rocks

Our last night we went to the Jetty to see if we could find any sea turtles.  We did!  We also watched a fisherman catch a really big red fish.

I just wanted ONE good picture.

Andrew.

Finally got some!

That was our last evening.  We were ready to get back home.  The beach is SO fun, but I think we were missing our home.  We had many adventures and made lots of new memories.

On the way home we stopped at a beach close to St. Augustine.  It is at Washington Oaks State Park.  It was a neat beach.  We were there about an hour or two, too early.  The tide was out just a little far to hit the rocks.  But we had a fun time climbing on them anyway.

BJ found a rock out in the water that they all had to go stand on.

It was a cool add on.  And then we were back home to reality!
We miss you already!

Daytona - Kennedy Space Center

We scored some free tickets to the Kennedy Space Center and decided we couldn't pass it up!  (Thanks Estes family.)  We figured we would go and check it out and stay as long as the kids were interested.  Well, we were there till it closed!  Definitely a success.  They have done a really good job to make it kid friendly, but let older kids and grown ups learn at the same time.

The Rocket Garden

Then we took a bus to the Saturn V rocket.  We drove past the iconic building below.  Even this picture does not show how BIG it is.  They said the blue part of the American flag is bigger than a football field.

That is the crawler that moves the rockets into position.  It moves 1 mph.

The next few are of the Saturn V and the Apollo missions.

Andrew and Grant are touching an actual moon rock.

Then we went into the Atlantis area with all of the shuttles.

The show entering this area was really well done!  After, it opens up right into this area.  Everything is much bigger than I had thought.

Bailey is trying to do a virtual space repair on the ISS.

That's a lot of buttons and switches.

Crawling in the ISS.

Grant and I found the potty.

Could you sleep strapped in, standing up?

They had a blast-off simulator.  It was cool.

They have a newer play area based on space.  It was a nightmare to keep track of them, but it was really neat!

We are on Mars.

Bailey is in space!

At the end we went into the Hall of Fame.
Cool place!
