Happy Halloween!

Tonight we went back to our old stomping grounds for some good ole Sandy Glen trick-or-treating. The majority of the night Bailey hung out with Luke Skywalker, the Blue Power Ranger and Elsa.  The pace of trick-or-treating definitely picked up this year.  The kids were RACING from house to house, but they stuck together, used their manners and made us parents proud!

Arr.

And then you have this dude.  He was great tonight…he hates his costume, but was a good sport about it!  He tries to pull the hood off forward, which makes it even worse!

Roar!

Jack-O-Lantern

Last night we finally were all home at a decent time to carve our pumpkin.  Good thing, since Halloween was today!  Bailey declared at the start that she wasn’t touching anything “gooey.”  And she kept her word.

Meanwhile, Andrew was on the loose chasing (half crawling/half walking) after a ball that he kept throwing into the road.  boys…

Time to Brush!

Just a little freaky.

And then the real Bailey came through!

On another note, Bailey has been working really hard to write her name – here is her progress!  We are SO proud!

It’s getting spooky around here.

Bailey has gotten into the Halloween spirit.

Some friends had us over to make “Witches.”

There are ghosts throughout the house!  (BJ made these with Bailey – I was so proud of him!)

We used pool noodles to paint/stamp orange circles and then painted them in, added stems and leaves.  Bailey cut hers out and taped them to popsicle sticks so we can use them when we read “Five Little Pumpkins.”  She also drew on her own faces including “cheeks.”

We also made Mummy-dogs for dinner the other night.

We also have been to a few fall festivals – here we sack raced!

Bailey got chosen to go up on stage and help the Wizard with one of his magic tricks.  She was his trusty assistant.  She LOVED it.  She kept asking to go back and see the “lizard” again.  I finally figured it out she meant Wizard.  haha.

New this year, they had a hay maze.  Bailey was a little unsure about it, but she still was thrilled to find the huge treasure chest of suckers in the middle!

When we got home – going through all the new goodies.  Winding down for bed?  not so much.

Stats (unofficial) -

  • Weight: 24 lbs

IMG_8933IMG_8934

What you are doing:

  • NO SPIT UP!  and along with that FINALLY came sleeping without a dreamfeed through the night.  You go to bed around 7:20pm and we wake you up at 7:15am to get ready for Ms. Judy’s.  The last week in September we noticed you cutting back on the amount of times you were spitting up and then the next week it just kept getting better. We are SO thrilled.  I can stop buying stock in Resolve.
  • You love food.  You love feeding yourself and getting messy.  We have phased out almost all lunch and dinner baby food because you were throwing fits to eat it.  You would much rather feed yourself.  Your favorite foods include toast with butter (doesn’t fall far from the tree), cheese, and canned veggies (carrots, green beans and peas).
  • You have a temper and throw tantrums when you don’t get your way.  You arch your back and throw your head back. Also, you are not scared of anything.  You crawl right up to it to check it out (other kids, babies, dogs).  Usually you tackle it or scream in their facees.  I call you a bully – I might as well go ahead and report you to the guidance counselor at school!
  • You can say “Ball.”  You also say Mama and Dada, but Ball is your first word.
  • You are practically walking.  Each day you go farther and farther before falling down (about 10 steps today).  You remind us of a penguin spastically waddling from side to side.  I finally broke down and purchased your first pair of shoes.  Your feet measured “extra wide.”
  • You are most content upstairs in the playroom.  You just roam from toy to toy and are perfectly happy playing by yourself.  You are quickly picking up how to throw.  You love wheels and things that spin.  You will sit and put your index finger out to flick it around.  You also have started looking at a number board book.  We think you are fascinated with how the pages work more than what the pictures show.
  • We call you a Monster because you could care less about what is in your way.  You are going to bust over it or through it no matter what.  I say you have great perseverance and drive, Bailey says you like to destroy things.
  • You still just have two bottom teeth.
  • You are in 18-24 month clothes.
  • Still napping 9-11 and 1-3.
