Big Boy Bed

The time had come.  We were not ready, but our storage was up.

Grandma and Grandpa had been keeping a bed for us from when they moved and they said all along when he turned two they were going to deliver it.  Well they told the truth.  The bed was delivered.  We had no choice.

So here is what it looks like:

Night One – Andrew laid there, kicked, rolled around, ran after us screaming when I shut the door.  Tore the “childproof” knob off and chased after me.  When I put him back and left the door open, he stayed and slept.

Night Two – Andrew got out of bed 5 times.  I would take him back and he would quietly sneak out again waiting a few minutes in between each time.  He tries to get to Bailey’s room.  It is a little funny because I will say his name and he will start to run back and be in his bed before I can get there.  I told him I was going to have to shut the door last night if he got up again (and he did) and it worked.

We will see what the next few nights have in store!  Oh what fun.  not really.

Outside on Christmas Day!

The weather has been extremely warm for December so we got outside Christmas afternoon to enjoy the 80 degree weather and some of our outside fun toys!
Yup, Santa brought a bounce house!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Christmas Day!

Happy Birthday Jesus!  We sure had fun celebrating YOU!

PaPaw got a new flag for his boat!  We can be like Jake and the Neverland Pirates now!

Daddy’s prize!  BJ calls him Sparky.  I call him Red because when I took Andrew he pointed and said “red one.”  Bailey calls him nemo.  I bet he is confused.

I have not laughed as hard as I did playing twister in a long time.  Bailey was the caller!

Bailey saved one present for last and it was just what she WANTED!!!!  She was so excited! (Cinderella’s lego castle)

Here we are having cupcakes for Jesus’ birthday!  We always sing Happy Birthday and blow out the candles.

Christmas Eve

Grandma and Grandpa went to church with us and then came over for simple sandwiches, a viewing of the Polar Express and some hot chocolate!

The message at church was about spreading Jesus’s light even in the ordinary

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Bailey decided Santa needed an orange this year because he is trying to be healthier.  And the reindeer needed 6 carrots.  On the right she is sprinkling “Reindeer food” around the yard because that is supposed to make sure they can find our house.  =)

Happy Christmas Eve!

Saluda Shoals Lights on the River

I think we started a new tradition this year.  Grandma and Grandpa decided to take us to Saluda Shoals park where they have TONS of light ups that you drive through.  (We didn’t think we were ever going to make it because the first time we tried the line to get in was over a mile long.  Then we tried again and there was an accident right infront of us where a car had completely flipped over).  However, when we finally got in, they loved it and even got to stand up through the sun roof in their car.  It was neat!

Here are a few of our favorites!

O Christmas Tree.

Take 1 on getting two kids to sit down together for a Christmas Tree photo.

Donuts and Dumptrucks

Today we had Andrew’s little party, centered around two of Andrew’s favorites.  Of course it was the coldest day of the month and we had a SANDBOX activity planned.  So the garage door stayed down and the space heaters came out!  Nothing that a crockpot of hot chocolate couldn’t fix.  It was PERFECT!  The kids were great and happy =).  I call it a success!

The kids could play in a big sand table (that BJ made last weekend) or they could use hammers to nail golf tees into styrofoam.  The kiddos went back and forth for almost two hours!

Hammer TIME!!

Diggin’ and Loadin’

Andrew was SO excited when we brought out the presents.  He exclaimed “PRESENTS!”  Probably the funniest part of the party.  I guess because he has seen some of them sitting there for a while and was thrilled to FINALLY get to open them!

Then everyone left and all the clean up was well over with… Andrew was STILL playing, in his new sandbox.  He probably played in sand for 4 hours today.  At least.

A big thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us!
