Hula party!

Happy Birthday Grandma!  To celebrate we had a fun hula inspired week with a big luau for Grandma’s birthday!  Hope she enjoyed it because we sure had fun getting it all ready!

Collecting the pinecones was quite a job!  It has stormed most afternoons and I didn’t want them to be wet.  So we had to quickly get them collected as the sky was dark and thunder loomed!  Andrew realized they are up in the trees and wanted to get them!  Of course, he also insisted on carrying the bucket and then spilled it a few times.  I think they turned out cute!

No luau is complete without the limbo and some hula dancing! (Yes, Andrew is dressed as Peter Pan.  I don’t know.)  Happy birthday Grandma!

We also checked out the new splash pad this week.  It was small, but fun!  Andrew’s favorite part was the shower!  crazy kid!

We also have been checking out books at the library A LOT this summer.  Here are some that went along with this week!

Happy 4th of July!

A little spur of the moment we decided to head to Ohio for the 4th of July.  It was a long drive for such a quick couple days, but really great seeing family!!  The whole way there Andrew kept saying “I want go home.”  Then today, on the way back, he spent the whole time saying “I want go back to Ohio.”  Clearly he had a good time, and so did we!  Cooler temperatures weren’t bad either!

On Saturday before everyone else got there we headed to the park!  I think the slide was “vintage.”  You never knew how they were going to come out at the end!

Grandma thought the kids should have the full experience and took them down on the path by the river.

Sunday morning we had bruch at Aunt Tam and Uncle Bob’s house and played with family!

Then Saturday late afternoon we had an indoor picnic (rainy weather didn’t ruin our fun!) at Fred and Marcia’s.  We celebrated Grandma’s birthday!

Happy 4th of July!  A big thanks to everyone in Troy for allowing us to crash the party!  We had fun!
