The county fairgrounds are just down the road from my parents house so we ended up going to the 4H show twice! The first time all the animals were just arriving and we were just checking it out. The highs were in the 60’s and it gave us a nice taste of fall. I can’t wait for sweatshirts and jeans! Anyway, we saw lots of farm animals and had a fun time. Just Bailey and I went back the second time on “Activity Day” for kids. It was fun and Bailey LOVED the bunnies. She even declared they were “calling her to come back” and would “miss her when she was gone.” Doubt it, since she would get her head right in their faces and reach her fingers in their cages to poke, I mean pet them. =)

Oh there were lamas too. You know, your typical farm animals!?

BJ and I stepped back and laughed while this photo was taken. Bailey climbed up on the bleachers and started asking a million questions, rapid fire. My poor dad was there to answer one after another, after another, after another. They were watching a horse do it’s routine (?) in the equestrian ring. I never knew there could be so many questions. “Why is it walking? Why is it running? What is the rider wearing? Who goes next? Now what are they doing? Why?” and on and on and on. Sorry Dad, but thanks for taking one for the team.
Firepit! – The evening lows were in the 50’s so we decided to have a firepit!

Bailey found that super long stick and thought she should make her smore on it! She also declared the PURPLE chair as hers.

After smores, I took Bailey in to get her bath and then we came back out to catch lightening bugs! We don’t have them down here, maybe because it is too hot?, so it was a new thing for her. She had a blast running all over the place trying to catch them and put them in the jar.

Sometimes your booty needs warmed up a little too.
Rolling Hills Water Park! – This is probably the biggest decision we made on our trip – to go or not to go. I REALLY wanted to go, but the highs were just in the mid 70’s. So not real hot. Well we went and had a great time, but got REAL cold when the sun started to go down. Bailey even had blue lips, but didn’t want to stop!

Waiting to go in at the gate

Grandpa and Andrew in the lazy river.

There was a really cool area for kids Bailey’s age that had lots of sprayers and smaller slides. Even Andrew decided to crawl over and put his head right under the waterfall. We were basically the only people there, due to the COOL temps!

Bailey was only tall enough to go down the big tube slides with an adult. But she loved it!

She also loved the wave pool. It was just like the ocean….kind of. Even though it was cold, it was still fun!
