Mother's Day!

 Happy Mother's Day!!!!

I had the kids make Lindsay breakfast in bed on Mother's Day. Each kid make one thing for her. Bailey made chocolate chip pancakes. Andrew make sausage links. Grant decided she needed a frozen waffle to go with the pancakes. 

After they were finished, I asked them our yearly questions about Mom. 

Bailey’s Answers:
My Mom’s name is : Lindsay
My Mom is: 39 years old. Just wait till next year ( haha)
My Mom weighs: 152lbs
My Mom’s job is: PE Teacher
My Mom’s favorite Food is: Pizza
My Mom Laughs when:  when dad is funny ( I am funny a lot)
My Mom always says: “It stinks in here" ( not sure about that one)
My Mom’s favorite color is: Red
My Mom cooks the best: " what does she cook??? Dad does most of the cooking" (that's right girl!)
If my Mom had time, she would Love to: sit on her phone and text 
My Mom and I like to: go shopping 
I love my Mom because: she is nice and talks to me a lot 

From Andrew:

Grant’s Answers:

My Mom is: 49 (maybe Grant is going to be in trouble).
My Mom weighs: 600lbs ( I don't think he has learned weight in his pre-school class)
My Mom’s job is: Cleaning ( While not her real job, she does have to do a lot of that with us in the house)
My Mom’s favorite Food is: Cereal ( very true) 
My Mom Laughs when:  Do silly stuff
My Mom always says: “Go to bed” (Very true)
My Mom’s favorite color is: Pink
My Mom cooks the best: Cereal and chicken nuggets
If my Mom had time, she would Love to: Play with me

Bailey Family Party and Mother's Day!

We decided to get together to celebrate Bailey with family and might as well throw Mother's Day in with it!  I had some games left over from Bailey's party that we played.  It was fun and silly.

Grant was SO sweet.  He wanted to "get" Bailey something in the worst way, so he found this in his room.  He ran in to get it.  Her reaction was also perfect.  I am sure the Minnie was just what she wanted.  

The first game we did was a group photo challenge.  I gave each team a list of things their group needed to take a photo of.  Some of the photos are priceless!!  Grandpa got stuck working on Christmas crafts with Grant.  He wasn't feeling the photos.

Not exactly sure what those are, but I would guess "looking scared" "being a statue" and "silly faces."

Andrew and PawPaw are "duck face" and "mad face" and "stuck in a small place."

After that, we used PVC pipe and parts to create marshmallow shooters. I had a simple plan, but they came up with some good ones!

You know, why not design one to shoot them at yourself??

Double Digits!  So exciting!  No looking back now.

1. What is your favorite color?  blue..
2. What is your favorite book? Harry Potter, so far #5
3. What is your favorite thing on your tablet?  3D Home Design.  She also spends a lot of time playing Minecraft, Roblox and watching Jesse.
4. What is your favorite movie? Harry Potter, #5
5. What is your favorite animal? Corn Snake, they don't bite and are very pretty.
6. What is your favorite restaurant? San Jose'
7. What is your favorite food? Chick Fil A chicken sandwich. Least favorite food? Macaroni and Cheese
8. What is your favorite snack? gummy worms
9. What is your favorite board game?  Sorry!
10. What is your favorite toy? American Girl Doll stuff.  Doesn't get played with much.  She is really into making bracelets out of looms that I used to make potholders.
11. Who is your best friend?  Riley
12. What is your favorite thing to do?  play soccer
13. When you are outside, what do you like to play?  "find the boys"  because "It's so easy".  When we have a fire pit with the neighbors all the boys go hide and she has to find them.  But they are scared of the dark, all hide together and are loud.  So easy is exactly right!
    
14. What are you the best at?  Soccer, playing Roblox
15. What do you like to learn about? Social Studies - the wars, Can't wait for WW1
16. If you could  meet someone famous, who would it be? Alex Morgan (She was SO close!)
17. What is your favorite thing to do with Andrew? Minecraft  What is your favorite thing to do with Grant?  paw patrol - what else does he play?
18. When you were little, you used to? walk with my arms out, like a zombie
19. What do you want to be when you grow up?  a teacher
20. What makes you happy? ice cream (me too kid)   What makes you sad? When Andrew is mean, or when I can't get something and when I can't score a goal in soccer.

You are the steady rock.  You are so smart.  You are the kind helper.  But you speak your mind.  You are strong enough to do the right thing even if no one else does.  You love and care for your brothers, even when they don't deserve it.  But when you are tried you get cranky.  It has been fun to watch you grow as a soccer player.  Keep working hard in life.  We love you.

Day 2 - The rest of Raleigh

 Of course I looked up cool things to see.  Here are the top murals and odd things to find!

Did you know that Raleigh is the City of Oaks?  Well, now you do!  Supposedly, this acorn is used every year as their "ball drop" on New Years.

We probably stayed here 30 minutes.  And could have stayed longer.  Such pretty colors!

I had to try it.

On the way back to the car, we even found this cool hopscotch painting.

BJ had to get Jet's pizza so we headed to the North Hills area and found these.

They have a really nice set up in this area with a big grass area surrounded by restaurants and shops.  It was perfect for a pizza picnic.  The kids ran around and played catch while we finished up eating.

And then we decided it was best to head home.  Raleigh you were fun!  Your weather was perfect and the city was a little get-a-way surprise.

On our way back we did a little detour through Duke University.  Nothing was open, but now I can say I have been there!
