Can Tinkerbell be an angel?

Tonight when we were saying prayers in bed with Bailey she asked about the angels again.  The conversation went something like this…

Bailey – “Where are the angels again?”

Me – “They are up with God, but sometimes come down to see us.”

Bailey – “I want to be an angel so I can go up with God.  I am going to be like Tinkerbell and use my pixie dust to fly around and around and around.”  (Her arm was waving around in crazy circles when she said it.)

Because Tinkerbell is just like an angel, right?

Andrew–5 months

Unofficial weight, since we didn’t have a doctor’s appointment:  17 pounds

What you are doing!

  • Rolling like crazy.  You don’t roll across the room, but you do roll back and forth on your blankets.  You like to lay on your stomach, supported up with straight arms.  I think you have figured out you can see a lot more that way.
  • You are still on a 3.5 hour schedule – with 6 – 6 oz. bottles (with 2 tsp. of rice cereal in each).  You also eat 3 Tablespoons of oatmeal and a veggie at dinner time.  You have had sweet potatoes, green beans and peas so far.  You also tried peaches, but they upset your belly so we stopped those.
  • As for sleep….we don’t like you.  We scrapped the spring break week – stay up late sacrificing the late evening – idea about day 4.  We decided we needed the three hours between 8-11pm more than the 20 minutes it takes you to eat around 2am.  So you go to bed around 8, wake up crying whenever (sometimes 11pm, sometimes 4 am, and mostly in between) and go back to sleep until we wake you at 7.  You have made it ONE glorious night without waking up.  You are still swaddled, but wiggle out of it most nights.
  • You still enjoy being upright – so the exersaucer, jump-a-roo and front carrier are your favorite things.
  • Generally you are a happy guy and love it when people talk to you, especially your sister!  You like to hear your own voice and make noises often.
  • Everyone says you look just like your Daddy.
  • You wear mostly 9 month clothes.

Andrew’s new trick!

We now have a rolly-polly kid!  When we put him down he typically he flips to his belly right away.

Bible verse of the month

Philippians 4:19 (NIV)

19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Bailey’s bible verse is a shortened version of this -  “My God will meet all of our needs.”

Strawberries!

Bailey and I went on our annual strawberry picking today.  After nap we hopped in the car and had a sweet time together.  To be honest, I don’t know if any of hers made it into the bucket.  At one time she even commented the she was leaving a “trail of strawberries” – as in the green part on the ground behind us!

A glimpse into last weekend.

Last weekend was jam packed with lots going on.  Grandma and Grandpa drove down though the night Thursday to be here over the weekend.  After a day out at the lake, Friday evening we returned home to have a small birthday celebration with Grandma and Grandpa.

Then Saturday was crazy!  We woke up and right away had a skype date with Uncle Pat and Aunt Denise.  It was killing Bailey to have gifts and not be able to open them!  And they were SO big!  (One was 8 big things of cotton candy…don’t they know they are about to have a child so now is not the best time to start something like this?!)

Then we got ready and went to Bailey’s dance recital.  Afterward everyone went out to eat to celebrate Mother’s Day at Fatz.  Then we headed home for a quick nap – to be honest, I don’t even know if Bailey slept!
Then it was two birthday parties back to back!  BJ, Grandpa and Bailey went to the first and then Grandma, Andrew and I met them at the second one.  The second one was on a little farm with lots of animals.  Plus there were pony rides and hayrides.  It was a fun time!  Of course, Bailey had to wear her cowgirl hat!

Bailey on Domino, and proof Andrew was there!

I was exhausted.  On Sunday the men went golfing and the ladies (plus Andrew) stayed home.  We played Candy Land, went on a walk, blew bubbles and had a tea party in the water table.  It was in the 90’s so I think my mom and dad were trying to soak up as much as they could!  Or maybe they were still defrosting from winter.

Andrew’s first ride in the umbrella stroller.  And on the right, Grandpa kept “accidentally” spilling his “tea.”  Bailey is not sure where it is going to go this time!

We sure had fun, but it was awful nice not to have anything we HAD to do today!

Body Rock

Bailey has been taking dance (tap and ballet) since early January.  This weekend was the big recital.  I was worried she wouldn’t even get up on the stage – she refused to get in the group photo on picture day.  But I was wrong, she rocked it…well in my eyes she did.  Go Girl!

I don’t know where she got the swinging hips, but she was the best at it.  The poor girl next to her just stood and cried.  This video will give us a good laugh for a while!

It’s PARTY time!

Bailey turns 3 this week so it was time to party.  We had all her friends over Saturday morning for “Pajamas and Pancakes.”  All the kids were super cute in their PJ’s!

We held this in our garage so if anything spilled (like syrup), I could just spray it down afterward.  It worked perfectly, BJ cooked the pancakes right out there on the griddle and people ate them hot as they came off.

We had a topping bar that included: pineapple, strawberries, bananas, chocolate chips, ready whip, sprinkles, icing, cinnamon, strawberry syrup and chocolate syrup.  And of course, a cupcake for later!

Bailey was so excited as she waited for all her friends to arrive!

IMG_5913

As friends started to arrive, we had a station set up to make Fruit Loop necklaces.  Just incase they needed a snack for later!

Bailey had been waiting all week for her pancakes!  She chose sprinkles, strawberries, chocolate chips and cool whip with regular syrup.  We all sang and she blew out her candles.

After pancakes, everyone headed to the back yard for some play time.  Since they were all sugared up, they needed to burn “their energy off” as Bailey would say.

Happy 3rd Birthday Bailey!

A couple random things…

1.  It has finally gotten hot here so we were in need of a couple ceiling fans last week.  BJ was hanging this one in Bailey’s room when she decided she was going to help – so she just climbed up behind BJ.  Then when he was done she had to inspect the work.  (It is in her room, maybe she has a point!)  Oh, and don’t ask where her pants went in the 15 minutes between these photos…I don’t know!

While that was going on, Andrew was facetiming!  If I am ever in a pinch and need a babysitter – I know who to call.=)

IMG_5889

Last weekend Andrew got dressed up for church.  I got this outfit for $1.  I don’t think he knew how to act without a onesie!  He actually looked like a little boy and not just a baby.

On Friday, it was Movie in the Park again at BJ’s work.  The movie playing was Frozen so Bailey was thrilled.  Before the show she got to meet Princess Anna!
