Thunderbirds and Friends

We headed to Shaw Air Force Base on Sunday for the “Thunder Across the Midlands” airshow.  It was Awesome.  Something everyone needs to go see.  The Thunderbird pilots have to be crazy.

Static Displays – There are TONS of aircrafts and army vehicles on the ground to walk around, get inside and climb all over.

When we got there the Black Dragons were jumping from their planes.

Then this guy started doing his cool air tricks.

Then these…. with fake explosions and a helicopter rescue.

And THEN…the “real” show started.

1. John Deere Tractor, 2. Fire Truck with the HUGE flag, 3. Loader (not part of the display, just hanging out in the background)

Tour de Cure

We signed up for the SC Tour De Cure again this year and got Grandpa and Grandma to go along too.  (Really, we needed to borrow their truck to get our bikes downtown.  They were EXTREMELY helpful!)

Bailey started practicing last weekend at the Lake Murray Dam.  Good thing we started training a whole 7 days before the race….actually that was the ONLY day of training leading up to the race.

Here we are getting ready…

A family “seflie” during the race….probably illegal to bike and take selfies at the same time.  I’m a rebel.

BJ and Andrew’s finish!  The race was 4 miles long.  Bailey was feeling pretty wimpy (she did throw up that night, so maybe I should give her a little more sympathy) and so she and I rode the 2 mile walker course while BJ, Andrew and Grandpa did the actual 4 mile race.  Yes, Grandma (a walker because she has a big gash in her arm) did beat Bailey and I.  I think we took 12 water stops and another just to stretch our legs.

Andrew has yet to master riding his bike, but he has gotten the hang of riding the scooter.

Painting with Moms

On Thursday Bailey and I went to “Painting with Moms” night at school.  We had a great time letting our creative juices flow! =)  It was one of those where you are supposed to follow along the steps and come away with a similar painting as the instructor…..not so fast here. =)  Bailey created her own masterpiece that didn’t follow one step!  ha!

Bailey’s finished masterpiece!

Happy Mother’s Day!

Last Sunday we decided to head to the newest attraction at the Zoo – Waterfall Junction!  It was a hot day and the perfect way to cool off!

Then that evening after dinner we headed to the golf course to break in Bailey’s new clubs!  She actually hit the ball!  Go girl!
