3 year old perspective.

Bailey has liked to “look” at pictures on my phone for quite a while.  But things changed Saturday when she learned how to actually take the photo.  So in about 5 minutes my phone had about 100 new photos.  Here are her “best” shots.

Please keep in mind, she is telling whatever she looks at to say “cheese.”  “Say cheese, Daddy’s elbow.”  And she doesn’t take just one photo of everything, but 3 pictures of Daddy’s elbow and three pictures of her foot, etc.

Then we went on a wagon ride!  Here is what her world looks like.

And now I am off to delete over 100 photos so I can get some memory back on my phone!

We love you!  Happy “half” birthday!

It’s SUMMER…dance camp

Last week Bailey went to dance camp all morning.  It was led by the same lady, Ms. Jennifer that taught her class.  The camp included ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics, cheer and fitness games.  Bailey had a good time and it was good for her to meet some new girls and have to listen in a class setting!  Ms. Jennifer had the parents come back early on the final day and the kids put on a performance.

I didn’t tape much, but here is a snip of her tap dance.

In the afternoons we still had a little bit of time to do a few dance themed things. We played freeze dance and had dance parties.  Bailey cut all the tissue paper for the tutu on the left, but didn’t like that the glue soaked through it so wasn’t a fan of sticking it on the paper.  For the girl on the right, we made a few since it was so simple – one of them lost a leg because Bailey LOVES cutting things with scissors!  All of the sudden, it was gone!

Bailey also fell in love with the Fancy Nancy books and Pinkalicious.  In Pinkalicious, they make pink cupcakes and the girl eats so many she turns pink.  This book was right up her alley!  So of course we had to make cupcakes…with Sprinkles!  We took them to dance class to share on the last day.

Bailey… being Bailey

Oh to be three!

Andrew–6 months

IMG_6729IMG_6730

In the photo on the right, I feel like he is just going to push up and walk off.

Stats:

  • Weight – 19 lbs., 8 ounces (80%)
  • Height – 28 3/4 inches (99%) – this still puts him predicted between 6’5” and 6’6”
  • Head Circumference – 44.5 cm (80%)
  • The doctor’s specific response “You have a BIG guy.”

What you are up to:

  • You are all over the place!  You roll wherever you want, you can spin circles on your tummy and have even pushed into the sitting position a couple times.  You get up on all 4’s and don’t quite know what to do – we feel you are going to take off any day.
  • For the most part you have stopped spitting up your bottles.  YEAH!!  We even switched to the fast nipple.  But you now are struggling to keep down meals.  You have tried – oatmeal, rice cereal, green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, bananas, squash, peaches, pears, applesauce and a banana berry combo.  You love to eat, but typically we see it again coming back up.  Frustrating!  You also drool everywhere, but no teeth yet.
  • You moved to the 4 hour schedule with two naps (9-11 and 1-3) and sometimes a late afternoon nap.   You ditched the swaddle blanket and just sleep in a diaper.  (Hey, it’s hot).  You still wake up at night but we have stopped feeding you full bottles and feel like we are making progress .  We wonder if it is your acid reflux that bothers you because you are soothed by being held upright.  At our appointment, Dr. Finch basically doubled your Zantac amount based on your weight.  We are hoping this will help you sleep better!
  • You still love your big sister and miss her when she isn’t close by.  You still play a lot in the exersaucer and jump a roo.  You have started to get into her toys (the other day you destroyed her train track and she wasn’t happy with you) and like to be included.  You have gone on your first wagon ride and you like to ride in the umbrella stroller.  We usually go on evening walks to calm you down and keep you busy.
  • You have taken to the water well.  You still try to dunk your head, face first into it, but one day you will learn!
  • We started calling your left arm “the flapper” because it goes crazy at times swinging up and down…usually hitting yourself in the stomach!
  • 9 month clothes are getting tight and you are about into 12 month.

Here are a couple photos from the other day…many more to come as we actually take some time this weekend to get some good 6 month shots.

Father’s Day Fun

Happy Father’s Day BJ!  MaMaw watched Andrew so Bailey and I could take BJ out on a special boat ride.  It was nice to actually get out and enjoy the lake.  At one point, Bailey looked at me and said “PaPaw is missing all the fun!”  He was away for the weekend at a fishing tournament.  I don’t know if BJ had a good time, but Bailey was living it up!

IMG_6641

I went up to the front and laid down, so Bailey decided that is how you must have to ride.  But she didn’t like it because she couldn’t see the other boats.  She is the “greeter” and must wave to everyone – the boater creed.

IMG_6645IMG_6638IMG_6649

Then we found a good spot to stop and swim.  Bailey thought it would be great to “push” BJ in.  Nothing says “Happy Father’s Day!” like jumping into water that takes your breath away!  (It feels good once you are in, but the initial shock is still a little cold.)

IMG_6659IMG_6663

We packed a lunch and stopped to enjoy a “floating picnic.”  Another reason Bailey loves the lake – picnics with Cheetos!  I promise she had strawberries and yogurt too.

IMG_6668

Then we went back and picked up MawMaw Miller for some tubing action.  We needed another person to act as our “lookout” and MawMaw wanted to see Bailey tube!  perfect.  Bailey did end up trying it by herself, but fell off as the tube went under when BJ started taking off.  She started crying in the water, but wanted to get right back on again with someone.

Happy Father’s Day Daddy!

Lake Murray

The last four days we have been living it up out at the lake.  We swam, boated, tubed, had movie night with popcorn, painted our nails, fed turtles, ate corn on the cob, threw rocks, swam, boated and tubed some more!  Bailey loved every minute of it and asked why we had to come home?  Andrew was ready to get back into his own bed and to stay inside for a few hours!  And I need a nap.  Here are photos of our fun!

Boating – Andrew’s first boat ride.  He was not cooperating and kept trying to roll over off the seats.

IMG_6503IMG_6506

Tubing – The tube we used last year got a hole in it, so Bailey had to up her game and actually hold on!  She did great!

IMG_6597IMG_6595

Andrew got himself into this position.  He was laying on his stomach and then pushed up into the crawling position and sat back on his bottom.  He was so proud of himself!
