Zoo day!

The weather was in the mid-50’s and we needed to get out of the house!  (and they are calling for rain all day tomorrow) What better place than to head to the zoo.  Plus we had gotten a new camera lens for Christmas that we wanted to try out! 

Andrew was all bundled up.  We don’t think he opened his eyes to see ANY animals.  There’s always next time.

This lion was laying down, eyes closed.  Bailey said “wake up Lion!” and it looked up.  I don’t think I want to run into this guy in the wild.

As we came up to the elephants, Bailey asked “do you think they are going to poop?”  She doesn’t EVER forget anything. 

BJ is really proud of his photography skills.  Enough said.  With his zoom lens it is hard telling what he is actually taking a picture of.

Bailey and I had gone ahead into the penguins while Andrew was finishing his bottle.  When we came out Bailey was looking ALL over for her Daddy and we finally found him!  He was WAY across the plaza.

Proof that Andrew was actually AT THE ZOO.  He and that Bear seem to be on the same schedule…..sleep all day and night.

Christmas Day!

Bailey had been waiting for this day for weeks, months really.  It was a blast and she was still playing when it was time for bed.  It is always fun to get new stuff!

Santa brought her a new bike and a Jake ship!  She couldn’t believe it!

Santa also brought Chuggington track and cars.  Let’s ride the rails!

And a hula hoop!

Later in the morning, Ma-maw and Pa-paw came over for brunch and MORE presents!

Bailey tried out EVERYTHING!

She took on Daddy in Hungry Hippos.  If the ball wasn’t coming her way she would stick her hand in there any shove it into her hippos mouth. 

Bailey got many dress up outfits.  Now she can be a cowgirl, Snow White, Princess Sophia, Peter Pan or Jake!  Let the good times roll!

Christmas Eve

We got up first thing and found the elves one last time.  They had to go back to the North Pole with Santa.  They had been doing some pretty sneaky things around the house. 

Later in the day we got all dressed up and headed to church. 

The pastor focused his message on the perspective of the Three Wise Men.  He reminded us that this season should have Joy, Worship and Gifts.  Do you have all three?

Matthew 2:10-11

¹⁰ When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. ¹¹ Entering the house, they saw the child with Mary His mother, and falling to their knees, they worshiped Him.Then they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Our little guy made it through his first church service – didn’t make a peep.

When we got ready for bed, we had to get Santa’s cookies ready.  When we first got them out, Bailey decided Santa didn’t need the Hershey's kiss on top so she took a bite out of it.  Poor Santa.

Christmas–Grandma and Grandpa Welty

Grandma and Grandpa Welty had to leave Christmas Eve so we had a little celebration December 23rd instead.  Here is Bailey with a few of her top gifts.

When Bailey opens presents she flings the paper behind her.  Stand clear!

Introducing… Jake, from Jake and the Neverland Pirates.  Yo, Ho, Let’s Go!  Bailey had this outfit off and on and off and on the rest of the evening.  She just needed a sword…hummmm….

Bailey’s new “piano.”  I don’t know where she heard piano – but that’s what she instantly called it. 

This last one is a Super Why game.  She was SO excited.  She said something like “this has my FAVORITE show.”  Thanks Uncle Pat and Aunt Denise!
