Andrew’s new tricks…

Just a quick photo update with some new tricks!  Two weeks ago I wanted him to GROW, now I want him to stop!  He is changing so fast.

Trick #1 – Exersaucer

Trick #2 – Bumbo time!

Trick #3 – Mr. Snail, I had forgotten how much Bailey loved this snail.  Andrew loves it too.  He is really starting to grab things rather than swat at them.  If you hold something out to him he will concentrate hard to open his hand to try and grab it.

Bailey’s new trick – recite the entire movie of Frozen.  Yes, we have caught the craze just like the rest of America.  I think she has watched it 293 times already.

“Let it go!”

Our new toy…

Last weekend Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Roberta came for a visit.  They needed to escape the winter blues and we needed helping hands!   Bailey and Andrew got to spend Monday and Tuesday with them too.

Here is the progress and the finished product!

This was the end of day 1…Bailey was a trooper since there wasn’t much to play on yet.

Day 2 had a rainy start, but we pushed trough!  Bailey was SO happy!

Up in the clubhouse with Grandma and on the glider with “no hands!”

And a couple random shots of Andrew.  I am sure he’s thinking – “This thing better hold up for me too!”

Andrew–3 months

IMG_4500IMG_4491

Things about Andrew this month -

  • You started rolling over from your stomach to your back.
  • You smile, laugh and interact with us.
  • Your eyes are brown.
  • You drink 7 – 5 ounce bottles a day (with rice cereal added).  You still spit up, but not nearly as much as you were.  You also take Zantac, 2 times a day.
  • You still wake up at night around 2-3am to eat.  ugh!  You are sleeping in your bed though.
  • You spent your first night away from home, at Mamaw and Papaw’s house.
  • I went back to work and you started going to Ms. Judy’s with Bailey.

It’s for the Birds!

The Friday before I went back to school Bailey and I got busy for the birds!  Here is what we came up with.

IMG_20140307_092209IMG_4357

Putting fruit loops and chocolate cheerios on pipe cleaners.  Who doesn’t like sugar coated breakfast cereal?

IMG_4369

Hanging the old fashioned “PB and S.”  S for seed, as in bird seed.  Incase they didn’t like the cereal.

IMG_4353

Paper plate birds!  Bailey is really into cutting and gluing.  She cut and glued all the paper pieces herself.  I added the tail.  The bowl..errr, nest… is full of 3” pieces of yarn because Bailey loved cutting so much!

IMG_4370

We finished by painting a terracotta pot and bottom and then glued them together to form a bird bath.  Here Bailey is adding the water.

Then she was off to the races!

Roll Over, Roll Over

There were three in the bed and the little one said, “Roll over, roll over!”

So Andrew did!

In this video I saved time by propping him on his arms, but he can do it without help – it just takes LONGER!

Andrew rolling!

Bible Verse of the Week

Bailey’s bible verse for March.

Matthew 7:28 (NIV)

…the crowds were amazed at his teaching.

and the back story…Jesus says to build your house on rock (not sand) so when a great storm comes, it will stay standing.  And in life, have a strong foundation in God so when trials come you will stay strong.

On a side note - Today in the children’s ministry at church it was “Dance for Jesus” Sunday.  They had a big dance party in their class.  I don’t know if I should be proud or worried because Bailey won the prize for “Best Dancer.”  HA!

Super FUN, Best Ever Saturday

Things had been feeling a little routine so we decided we needed to do something FUN.  (More for Bailey, but for ourselves too).  So we cram packed FOUR big things into our Saturday.  We looked into heading to the beach, but backed out of it because of Andrew and the hotel with the water park where we wanted to stay was booked.  So we stayed around here and had some fun!

First, BJ took Bailey back to the YMCA to swim.  We used to do this a lot since it was right near our house, but Bailey hadn’t gone since we moved!  I am sure they had a good time.

Then, the USC equestrian team had a meet and it was Kids Day!  Since their farm is right across the street from our neighborhood (and it was FREE) Bailey and I decided to check it out.  We invited Callie and headed out to see the horses.  I think they all had a good time!

They got to pet the horses and feed them hay.

IMG_4138IMG_4123

They got to make these stick horses.  Bailey stayed on hers for a while, yelling “Giddy-up” the whole time.  Yes, people were looking at us.

IMG_4139

Sweet horse-y kisses!

Then we came home for a lunch break and headed to the museum.  No nap first.  Bailey thought it was the big time!  She loves going to Edventure (we only ever go the first weekend of the month because Bank of America card holders get in FREE!).

After the museum, our final venture was to the Lake!  She was thrilled to go out to MaMaw’s and PaPaw’s!  We haven’t been out there to stay the night for a while and she was SO excited.  Plus we got to have cupcakes to celebrate MaMaw’s birthday!  We even finished the night with a dance party out on the pontoon!

Fishing with Daddy!

IMG_4164IMG_4168

CUPCAKES!!! (Yes, now you see why we had to go have a dance party.)

It wasn’t the beach, but we all had fun!  And Andrew slept from 9pm till 5:30am.  That’s huge progress!
