Party Time!

We were back at the lake this past Saturday to celebrate PaPaw’s birthday.  (We also celebrated all the kids birthday’s because we didn’t do gifts on their actual dates.)  A fun excuse to get a fun gift!

Bailey and Morgan exchanged the same gift – yes, we planned it – and cruised ALL over the driveway.  MaMaw and PaPaw have the perfect hilly driveway to fly on these things!

Andrew scored this cool alligator ball thing.  And he hasn’t even had a birthday yet!IMG_7457

PaPaw got flashlights so he will ALWAYS be ready!IMG_7468

And of course we had some water sport fun!  It was a very overcast, off and on sprinkling type of day – so pretty cool out on the water.  But we made the best of it! IMG_7348IMG_7376IMG_7388IMG_7401IMG_7330

The red chair adventures have begun.  It was basically impossible to get him to stay there while I was taking the picture.

That finger must taste good.

Stats – Unofficial weight – 21 lbs.

What you are doing -

  • You crawl wherever you want and pull up on anything.  You can slowly cruise along the front of the couch.  One time you have gone from your activity table (leaning against the couch) to the couch.  You have climbed up two steps by yourself (and then slid back down feet first on your tummy).  You also still love the jump a roo and jump like crazy!  Bailey and Daddy call you the “Candy Land Monster” because you won’t leave them alone when they are trying to play.
  • You are eating three meals (cereal and fruits/veggies) plus your bottles.  You have tried puffs a few times but typically gag yourself on them.  You still spit up and still take Zantac.
  • YOU SLEEP!  Our happiest days are here!  You take two good naps 9-11 and 1-3 during the day and sleep 8-7:30 at night.  We sneak into feed you at 10:15 and you make it the rest of the night.  We are working back the “dreamfeed” time and hope to eliminate it soon.  You have taken to your pacifier while you are sleeping – this is new because before you would just chew on the side of it or not want it at all.   I think you have found it sooths you back to sleep.
  • You still don’t say anything.  You are either quiet or SCREAMING when you are mad/hungry/want attention/fallen and bonked your head.  Nothing much in-between.  You sometimes will let out a big “hhheeeeeeyyyyyy,”  but that’s about all.
  • You are doing a fairly good job holding your own bottle.
  • Everyone says you look like Daddy and now people are commenting on your hair – that it looks like a mow hawk!

Out on the Lake

Last weekend we headed out to the lake for some lazy fun.  When we got there PaPaw surprised us by borrowing a neighbors jet ski!  Bailey loved it and the new tube they had gotten since the last time we were out there.  Here are some photos!

It’s SUMMER!…Frozen

Last week was all about the movie Frozen.  Here are a few things we did to pass the time!

IMG_7098IMG_7099

We made Elsa’s Icy Power bracelet.  Bailey pretends she is Elsa and strikes us with her ice power.

We painted with blue and pink snow….err shaving cream.  Bailey even added glitter to make it “sparkle.”

We made Love Trolls.  We went on an adventure to find the perfect rocks.

IMG_7311IMG_7310

We cut out snowflakes and hung them to make it seem like it was snowing.  We also built snow towers out of cups and threw snowballs at them to knock them down.  (You can kind of see it in the background).

And we made shiny ice (ice cubes with glitter in them) and used it to build Elsa’s ice castle.  And of course Jake got to come over and ice skate too.

So do you “Wanna build a snowman?”

4th of July–photo shoot

Happy 4th everyone!

It’s SUMMER…4th of July

After this week Bailey can identify the American flag.  I tried to explain that we live in America – but all she knows is our town and state.  Hard for a three year old to get the concept there is something even bigger.

Here are a few craft projects we did through the week.  Bailey really loves to paint and when I got out the sticks below she could hardly believe we got to “paint sticks!”  I really didn’t know it would be that exciting.  ha!  She painted ALL of the blue ones and half of the white ones (I did the red.)

On the 4th we got up and went out to decorate our yard!  One of Bailey’s friends was outside and came over to help.  We put stars all around our grass.  Some look like stars and some look like blobs.  You just take flour and sift it over the stencil.  I think they turned out cute!

This year for the 4th we stayed home and went to a BBQ cookout at our pool in our neighborhood.  We went with neighbors and had a really fun time.  Today we played outside all morning and then had a fire pit with smores this evening.  Both nights BJ took Bailey to see fireworks.  She got to stay up extra late and really enjoyed herself (and her time with Daddy).   We have had 0% humidity the last two days and it has felt amazing outside!  We are really enjoying it and living it up while it lasts.
