BJ and I decided to take a little vaca without the kiddos for our 10 year anniversary! We filled our days with adventure and had a blast.
Thursday we did a high ropes course. It was by far the most physically challenging for me! I loved it!
Friday we hiked 13 miles to the top of Mt. Cammerer and back to our camp ground. There is a lookout at the top that was used as a fire tower until the 60’s.
We also were within a mile of this shelter which made me just a little paranoid. Don’t worry, we carried walking sticks to scare them away….. Luckily we didn’t see anything more than a few snails and a couple turtles.
Saturday we did a zip line over the Pigeon River and through the woods. It also was really cool. It was the first time I had to control my own breaks! Then that afternoon we white water rafted. Here is our ride to the drop-off point. Yes, we did go on I-40….packed in a bus….all wearing lifejackets and helmets…..with huge rafts attached to the top. Sweet!
Saturday night we drove to Greenville and ate dinner at The Cheesecake Factory before walking around the downtown for awhile. How am I supposed to choose ONE?
By Sunday we were exhausted and ready to get home! We really appreciate our parents for taking care of Bailey and Andrew while we were away. My mom said it best in a text, “I’m not sure they even know you’re gone. But I know they will be happy to see you.” When we walked in the door, I asked how they were and Andrew responded with “Awesome!” When you get to have snow cones, ice cream, Dunkin’ Doughnuts, McDonald’s and Chick-Fil-A, that would be pretty Awesome! We appreciate them and know our kids were “well” taken care of!
