I had been wanting to see the Thomas Dambo trolls for a while. Somehow I made us close enough to make it work. We saw 4 in Detroit Lakes.
I did not realize there are hikes to almost all of them. So not quite a "jump out and look." Sorry family.
That evening we stopped at the Mall of America and took the train into the city for the twins vs. cubs.
Cool view of the city!
Onto Wisconsin! I learned there are a few of these lakes with bounce houses in Wisconsin. I picked one and it was great. Our timing had to change a little because Andrew's team won their district tournament and we had to get back two days earlier than planned. So we stopped here to play, but didn't stay the night. We played until the afternoon rain came and then headed on.
It was really fun, and a great workout! I'm not sure why there weren't many other grown-ups. BJ and I are starting to wonder if we are a little different. But we were having as much fun as the kids. ha!
We couldn't leave Wisconsin without cheese!
Quick stop at Culver's (originally founded in WI) for some cheese curds! Man were they good!
On this trip, the pit crew really came alive. Our windows were looking fresh...and maybe a little streaked. But they were cleaner!
And that's a wrap! 1,000 miles home as quickly as we could.
Wyoming and Montana you didn't disappoint.
South Dakota you were a wonderful surprise.
