Pre-Halloween Events!

We have been rocking our costumes at a few Pre-Halloween events.

Introducing Maleficent!

IMG_4315IMG_4324IMG_4322

She has been working on her evil “MUAHHAHAHA” for quite some time. (Cape made by: Grandma! Horns made by: Me.)

And her side-kick dragon!

Boo At the Zoo – Every year we try to trick or treat at the zoo.  My favorite part was the witch’s hats in the trees!  They looked really cool, almost like floating lanterns.

Andrew was pretty funny.  He would go up to the booths and say “trick or treat” and they would give him a piece of candy.  Then he would say “more, more candy.”  And if they weren’t fast enough, his hand was in the bowl digging it out himself!  A week ago, he didn’t even know what candy was!!!

We saved Frankenstein’s Foam Pit until the very last thing.  You can see why.  This is the first year Bailey has touched the stuff.  But when Andrew started having so much fun, there wasn’t any way to keep them out!

Andrew ran around like this almost the entire time we were there!

IMG_4423IMG_4391

Every few minutes the foam would pour down from a tube at the top.  Bailey decided to go right under it.  Why not?  Shortly after this photo you couldn’t see her at all.

They were soaked (and exhausted).  We striped them down before they got in the car.  We considered that their bath for the night.  Clean enough!

Soccer

We have had a hate-love relationship with soccer recently.  BJ and I decided to sign Bailey up for the fall season.  First practice – she did two drills and cried the rest remaining time.

Then we had about 3 weeks off because of the flood and rain, so she never really got over it.

Finally, we went back to back with practices and games and things were improving, she did great!

IMG_4279IMG_4272

Then we had the nightmare game where she refused to play.   Sat and cried.  Refused to let go of my hand.  What do you do?  I don’t get it, because the week before she was out there running around?!

BUT then last week she had a great practice and played the WHOLE game.  Never subbed out.  She was upset when practice got cancelled this week because of rain, AGAIN.  So now, she is in love!

Water break with Grandma.  Grandpa is out chasing Andrew.  We couldn’t do these games without him!

The trip back…

We packed a picnic lunch (thanks to Chad and Natalie’s food) and headed home Sunday.  BJ stopped at a lookout so we could stretch our legs and see the beautiful mountain view!

We also discovered the BIGGEST pumpkin farm EVER.  I looked it up online and learned it is 1,400 acres of pumpkins that produces 1.2 million pumpkins each year.  Unfortunately there is no “patch” to stop and pick.  These pictures are taken about a mile apart along I-77.

Orange polka dots everywhere!

Another big thanks to the grandparents for watching Andrew!

Buckeye Game 2015

Last weekend we left Andrew with the grandparents and hit the road North.  We left Friday, stayed with Chad and Natalie and then got up to take Bailey to her first Buckeye game!

IMG_4111IMG_4117IMG_4113

During the pregame excitement we headed over to St. John’s arena for some fun!  Bailey loved watching the band, high-fiving the players, and mingling with the cheerleaders!

IMG_4121IMG_4120IMG_4133IMG_4137IMG_4136

Here Bailey is pumping up Pat Elflein, Taylor Decker, Cameron Johnston and Joshua Perry!  The security guards were great and practically pulled Bailey out into the middle of the players without us even asking!

IMG_4139IMG_4131

Each coach had a few buckeyes they were handing out as they walked past.  She got 3 from Larry Johnson, Zach Smith and Urban Meyer!

GO BUCKEYES!

IMG_4147IMG_4150IMG_4158IMG_4161IMG_4187

Bailey got a kick out of the “princess” crown that the band members created!  It was homecoming. She also kept track of the cheerleaders throughout the game.
